When I Dream

It’s true that I live in a dream world;

It’s where I prefer to be

After all the pain I’ve suffered–

The cruel reality–

I need to look for beauty

I find it when I dream.

It’s true that I’m wrapped in a daydream

That fills the night for me,

That eraces the fear and lonliness

And love is all I see–

The love the world denies me–

I find it when I dream

When I dream I believe in someday;

A hero whispers to me,

“You know I’ve always loved you

“I’m coming. So wait for me.”

And then he’s in my mind with me.

I have him when I dream.
