Love’s Awakening
Pleasures that grow
And turned into joys,
Delights that became excitement,
Love that awakened
And stirred in my soul
With whispers of sweet enticement
Sparks that crackled
Created a glow
And a warmth that steadily deepens
Becoming a passion
That I’d never known
And a love that demanded its freedom
A love that awakened
The best in my soul
And helped me to see what I am;
A love that I had longed for
Kept calling to me –
A challenge, and firm demand.
A challenge to virtue,
Demanding my strength,
Insisting on dreams and ideals,
Filling my soul
With a wonderful joy
As I seek to make it real.
